The Western Maine Market is a virtual marketplace where you can purchase food grown and made locally in the western Maine region. We request that all buyers take a moment to read through the Picking Up Your Food and Conditions of Use listed at left.
The Western Maine Market is a project of the Western Mountains Alliance. WMA received seed monies from Northeast SARE and the Harvest Fund. The project would not have been possible without the help of a dedicated volunteer advisory board, farmers, producers and community volunteers.
How the Website Works:
· Pick - up your order every Friday afternoon 4:00pm - 5:00pm at the Western Mountains Alliance office, 109 Church Street, in Farmington or every Saturday morning 10:00am - noon at the Farmington Grange, Bridge Street in West Farmington or have it delivered to you. Delivery within a few blocks of downtown Farmington is free, with a 3 dollar fee to the rest of Farmington, 5 dollar fee to adjoining towns, and 10 dollar fee for towns as far as Rangeley and Carrabasset Valley.
· WMM is "live" for buying from Saturday afternoon until Thursday late afternoon. If you visit the site Thursday evening though Saturday noon, you will find all items are "sold out." Please come back on Saturday afternoon to place an order. You may pick up your order either Friday afternoon between 4:00pm - 5:00pm at the Western Mountains Alliance office, 109 Church Street in Farmington or Saturday morning between 10:00am - noon at the Farmington Grange, Bridge Street in West Farmington.
· Paypal is the payment vehicle through which customers purchase items on the website. Be sure to continue through all the confirmation steps in order to receive a confirmation email solidifying your order. At this time, payments cannot be made at the pick-up site unless you would like to buy a gift certificate for the market. Purchasing a gift certificate allows you to bypass using a credit card on the website. Please call 778-3885 for details.
We would like to thank Deborah Chadbourne of Rasmussen Farm, Lone Antler Farm in Wilton, Tranten's Market, the Sandy River Farmers Market and Nina Gianquinto, owner of Up Front and Pleasant Gourmet in Farmington for their generous donations to the market.
Finally, we encourage you to get to know the hardworking farmers, bakers and producers who provide your food, just check out the "Meet the Food Makers" link above.
